OUR PROCESS

Our wraparound services are implemented in four individual stages with each stage being complimentary of the others, while building upon the next.

We want to create educated and empowered parents who understand what it takes to create healing for their child for the long-term. The foundation of our model is first and foremost education.

Stage 1

Stabilization, Engagement & Plan Development

1-3 Months

Stage 2

Implementation

9 Months

Stage 3

Growth and Support

3-6 Months

Stage 4

Transition

3 Months

  • We begin by educating adoptive parents on how their children’s brains and theirs have been impacted by stress and trauma.

We utilize an online resource center with more than twenty years of trauma specific education and provide intensive one, two, and three-day educational seminars referred to as parent camps to help maximize learning in the most efficient period of time.

At these intensive parent camps, you will learn to:

    – Become trauma-informed

    – Learn how trauma and stress impact the brain of both you and your adopted child

    – Understand the impact of the early experiences on the child’s brain and behavior

    – Learn how to create a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment

    – Develop the ability to see the adopted, traumatized child in a different way

    – Understand how to be an effective advocate for the child at school

    – Learn how to see problem behaviors in a different perspective

    – Improve communication dynamics with the traumatized child

    – Gain support and building supportive relationships

  • Our in-home parent coaches spend time with the parents addressing day to day behavioral issues.

Each behavioral episode is used as an opportunity to examine the process of the episode and help parents begin to see “process” over “outcome”.

We help parents develop relational approaches to parenting that focus on teaching rather than punishment.

  • We provide in-home homework support, cooking, cleaning, and socializing opportunities that adoptive parents can attend to better understand their adopted child.

These sessions are based in educational psychology and are geared toward helping parents work through challenging scenarios, be a part of a healing community and develop a collaborative environment.

  • Therapeutic services are oftentimes provided in the home as a part of the healing process

Our parent coaches spend scheduled time with the family as a unit helping them communicate more effectively. We help adoptive families understand each other deeper and determine what ongoing needs and issues to bring to the forefront to help each family member feel safe.

  • A resource family receives a single certified trauma-focused coach that works with them weekly to address issues as they arise as well as to coordinate additional ancillary services.

We hope to move to the point where we are no longer needed in crisis situations because the family feels empowered and equipped to work through the situation, thereby reducing crisis intervention by 100%.

  • Our members have 24/7 clinical support and effective coaching directly from Helene Timpone, LCSW and participate in a private online community where they can ask questions and get additional support.

  • We provide the additional support of ongoing advocacy within the community and specifically within the school.

  • We begin at least 90 days before Wraparound ends.

May involve a final meeting of the whole team or a small celebration.

  • May include services that remain in place after Wraparound Services end.

May also include a Crisis Plan that outlines ways families can access support and services if a crisis situation presents itself.

Plan for the future, including who we can call on if we need help or if we need to re-convene our team.

There is hope for your family.
